Photos in Pencil

There is something special about the photos people send when they want me to draw their pet.

I have found that the photos are so personal and full of character, and when you think about where the finished product will go, and what it will be a reminder of, this makes sense.

The photos sum up the personality of the dog and what makes them so special to their owner in one image.

Portraying this in a drawing is possibly my favourite thing about drawing pets, capturing the essence of someone's best friend in a piece of art.

From the photo I am sent to the finished product, I thought I would share with you a few 'before' and 'afters' of my drawings and the original images they are inspired by.
